Does Glutathione Play a Role in Anti-Aging?

Posted by: admin In: Benefits of Glutathione

Ever since the role of glutathione in the body was discovered, scientists and doctors have been carefully researching the countless benefits that result from increased glutathione levels. So far, glutathione has been shown to have a role in boosting the immune system, acting as an antioxidant, and detoxifying the body of common pollutants. Today, glutathione is in high demand as an anti-aging treatment. Not only does glutathione decrease the medical rate of aging of the entire human body, but it induces cosmetic anti-aging as well. Both of these types of anti-aging are important in society today.

Glutathione supports anti-aging.

Glutathione has been proven to provide significant anti-aging benefits.

Glutathione’s ability to decrease the medical rate of aging in the body is important because it allows glutathione users to live longer, healthier lives than they would otherwise enjoy. Further, glutathione users are also benefited by glutathione’s incredible cosmetic effects on their skin. Glutathione plays a role in lightening the skin, removing unattractive age spots, sunspots, and other unsightly dark patches on the skin. Glutathione also helps to increase the general health of the skin, even causing a reduction in the amount of wrinkles. All of these effects are directly attributable to glutathione, making glutathione the all purpose anti-aging nutrient.

Glutathione plays a large role as an antioxidant in the body. Antioxidants, of course, are the body’s best defense against free radicals, which are the main cause of age-related problems with the body, including oxidative damage and some cancers. If the body can better prevent free radicals from raising havoc from within, it will remain viable and healthy for a much longer period of time. Because glutathione is the body’s most powerful and important antioxidant, higher levels of glutathione lead to less wear and tear on the body by free radicals, effectively slowing the rate of aging of the body.

Continuing with the subject of wear and tear, glutathione also detoxifies the body of many of the toxic pollutants that are encountered on a daily basis. These pollutants include cigarette smoke, heavy metals such as lead and mercury, and of poisonous molecules like alcohol. When the tissues of the body are exposed to fewer poisonous toxins, they remain healthier for longer, decreasing the rate of aging of the body. Lower toxin levels lead to less wear and tear, which leads to decreased apparent age of the tissues. This benefit is both aesthetic and medical in nature, promoting better health and more attractive appearance. Users of glutathione supplements both appear and feel like they are healthier, and have increased energy levels. Possessing more energy and better health leads to not only increased life expectancy, but to an increased quality of life.

Finally, glutathione works as an anti-aging agent by boosting the performance of the human immune system. Higher levels of glutathione result in the immune system working at a higher level, better protecting the body from pathogens. Consider two people in an experiment, subject 1 and subject 2. Subject-1 boosts his glutathione levels, resulting in a stronger immune system. As a result, he becomes ill far less frequently than average. Subject-2 lives the average life, and has an average immune system. His infection rate by pathogens is equal to the average infection rate of the world population. Because subject-1 has less wear and tear on his body and his immune system, his body is able to function better and longer than subject-2’s body.

In conclusion, glutathione is a proven anti-aging agent, exhibiting its anti-aging properties both cosmetically and medically. Glutathione is important because it is the body’s most important antioxidant, immunity booster, and detoxifier. These properties allow glutathione to exhibit anti-aging properties. Higher glutathione levels lead to increased life expectancy, increased quality of life, and improved cosmetic appearance. Glutathione depletes in the body over time, so as one gets older, their glutathione needs to be replaced regularly and often.
